We are pleased to introduce Family Connection from Naviance, a web-based service designed especially for scholars and families.  Family Connection is a comprehensive website that you and your scholar can use in making decisions about courses, colleges, and careers.  Family Connection is linked with Naviance Succeed, a service that Ms. Muhammad, Director of College Transition, uses to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that is specific to Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter High School.

Family Connection will allow you and your scholar to

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process: Build a resume, complete on-line surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers.
  • Research colleges: Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past.
  • Sign up for college visits: Find out which colleges are visiting our school and sign up to attend those sessions.

Family Connection also lets us share information with you and your child about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities, and other Web resources for college and career information.  You can also use the site to send us an email message.

We hope that you will find these resources helpful.

College Vocabulary is a listing of definitions of terms common to the college application process.
